1. Draw The Area You Want To Cover

  • Go to: https://www.google.com/mymaps
  • Click "+ CREATE A NEW MAP"
  • In the search bar at the top, paste: 45.660752727443295, -110.5589408566898
  • Press Enter - the map will center on downtown Livingston, MT
  • Click on "Base map" at the bottom of the map panel
  • Optional: Select the "Satellite" view
  • Optional: To import a KML file, click "Import" under "Untitled Layer" and choose your KML file, then click Go
  • Click the draw polygon tool (icon with a line and dots) and draw your area of interest
  • After drawing, click on the polygon to rename or edit it if needed
  • Click the three vertical dots (?) next to the layer name (usually "Untitled Layer")
  • Select "Export to KML/KMZ"
  • Check "Export as KML instead of KMZ" and click Download
  • Optional: Click "Untitled map" at the top left to name and save your map to your Google account for later editing or sharing
